I've been going to this shop for about 18 years now for all of my cycling needs. There is a reason for this, and in my most recent Bike purchase it was proven to me once more. Rick worked tirelessly to make sure that the I got the perfect road bike for my needs. He didn't try to upsell me out of my price range, or set me up with unneccesary options or upgrades. He made sure I got exactly what I needed. The bike was there and put together in a matter of days, and the staff was happy to fit me for the bike and go over everything about it. They also offer excellent service after you buy the bike. They offer 2 years of service included in your purchase and have been happy to help me with any tweaks and adjustments. I ride a lot, so to have 2 years that the shop fully backs the bike is great.

I LOVED working with the salesman at Bicycle Connection! Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name, but he is early 40's Tall, Thin, and rode his bike about 1,000 miles this year.

This shop was very helpful in helping me purchase my bike over the telephone. It was ready for pickup when I requested, also. However, I was a bit disappointed that the leather on the seat was cut when I received it. I had asked that they inspect the bike real good because my daughter was picking it up, since we live out of town. I would appreciate any help with this situation that you can give me. Came back to the store a week later for an adjustment. The bike tech did an excellent job explaining to my son how the derailer worked and the correct way to shift the gears.

This was the third bike I purchased from Bicycle Connection. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and patient. They will ask plenty of questions so that they are sure you purchase the correct bike for your needs, and within your budget.

My bike was purchased late on a Saturday and they made sure that the bike was assembled and that I had taken it for a test run prior to bringing it home. They did not ask me to return at a later day even though it was very late and time for employees to go home.

I bought my new Specialized bike about 5 weeks ago. Chris was very knowledgeable about every aspect of biking. He had me sit on the bikes and even ride them around the store to make sure I was comfortable. I didnt feel like anyone was trying to make a quick sale from me, but that they wanted to make sure I was 100% happy and comfortable with the bike before I bought it. Chris was extremely helpful to me, as I just started riding. All the other staff were very great too. I would highly recommend anyone to go there for a new bike, parts, repairs and if they dont have something in stock, they can order it for you.
It was a great experience dealing with people who know their stuff inside and out.

I have used Bicycle Connection for several years and have personally purchased 3 bikes from them. I have always received expert advice and a lot of patience from the staff as we work through configuring the perfect ride. My most recent acquisition is a Specialized Stumpjumper that has performed flawlessly since I collected it.
I have recommended the store to my family and friends. Those that purchased a bike received excellent service and a good price. The friendly staff (many of whom ride) are able to accommodate all levels of cyclist and are willing to spend the time to find the best bicycle for the customer (see other reviews as well).

Chris and everyone have provided outstanding bike service the last 3 years. I started biking 3 years ago on old racing bike as alternative to running for "old distance runner." Your service has been great on my old bike. When I started developing lower back pain because of my desire to push it, my doctor recommended a flat handle bar bike. Chris explained several bike options,but recommended the "specialized" bike. I bought the bike and just love it. No lower back pain, and I can push my bike rides for a good workout.

Thank you for selling Giant HalfWay bicycle. As opposed to other bicycle shops I had visited at that time, Bicycle Connection provided excellent customer experience. Over the phone I received firm and professional information. The new bike was waiting for me at the door when I arrived - what a view on steps to the shop! The bike was in perfect condition. All my questions to my expectation were addressed in depth. Professionally I specialize among many other things (www.compexbc.com) in strategic marketing and process implementation for building winning organizations. As always I see areas for improvement, I must admit that I could not find anything to improve, moreover - on occassion I became speechless - questions were answered before got formulated. I also had a very pleasant stay there because of good family invite atmosphere there so I almost felt bad that eventually I had to take the bike and leave.

Form my professional prospective I prefer to work within strategic alliences - efficiency, image, accomplishments reasons and so on. My experience tells me that I would fill very comfortable working with Bicycle Connection on addressing large sectors of bicycle buyers since all is set there up for business success.

Before I purchased my bike from Bicycle Connection I shopped thier price and service at 5 other stores in the chicago suburbs. I came back and was glad to give them my business. When I came back to purchase the bike Tim showed me, he had already sold it to another customer. So I had him start ordering up a new one from the factory. Then the owner comes by and gives me an incredible deal on a much better bike. I came back to Bicycle connection becasue Tim had took his time with me. I asked a ton of question and even carried a note book to record his answers and write down thier prices to compare at the other stores. I came back to the store because Tim made me feel comfortable and didn't mind my novice questions. The others acted like they were mountain bikes gods and I must be very stupid to ask such simple questions. Great Store, Great Price, Great Service, I will be back.

There the best shop for a mountain bike around. If they don't have to bike you want there order you the one you wanted have it ready for you in under a week. I love this shop and the guys that work there know some much. There is nothing their awesome mechanic can't fix. They helped my get my sweet Rockhopper comp

Salesman was very helpful so decided to check the price on-line and then buy the bikes the next day. Next day dealt with the owner, tried the bike, liked it. Wanted to buy two bikes and car rack, helmets, etc. Owner would not match 10% off list price found at other stores. Bought one bike anyway, nothing else, now I have to take it back because the chain keeps falling off.

Went to shop 5/21/07. Salesman was excellent, fitting bike to me, helping me choose bike, etc. Total cust. serv. Put bike on hold that day for 3 days. Went back to purchase 5/24 - wow what a difference in the people working that day ! Rushed - in a hurry - all of them - I told them I would come back next day and not to rush. They still wanted to rush & get it out the door that day. I saw kickstand was not put on as I was being rushed out the door. "Wait" we'll do it right now" I wait and then...I said I needed to do the quick release wheel in front of them - Salesman finds cables were not adjusted properly - "wait" he said. I said "no I don't want to rush, I need to make sure this bike is perfect before I take it out of here, I'll come in tomorrow. My suggestion is insist that this shop takes their time with getting your new bike together. I have not ridden a bike in 7 yrs so I need to be refresed on air pressure, quick release, these particular brakes, seat adjustment etc. I definitely did not feel I was buying from a bike shop, but rather like a Walmart where no one knows much about any particular product and truthfully, I expect more from a "bikeshop".

I had recently purchesed the Giant Boulder SE. i have not bought a bike since i was a very young age so i needed some insight as to whats in the market and proper bike for what i was doing. i recived nothing but the most quality help i could ask for. all my questions were answered and everything i needed to be shown about the bike i had purchesed. i would definetly come back for future business and recommend friends and family to the bicycle connection.

I was looking for a very specific bike and I was told by several shops that I would not be able to obtain this bike in the 2007 calendar year. On a whim on a Saturday, my wife and I pulled in and noticed that the Bicycle Connection carried the Specialized brand, which is what I was looking for. Not only did Mike Tjaden find the bike, had it ordered and shipped within 4 days, gave me a great deal on a bike that was very hard to find, and had it set up to my weight when I came to pick it up. Awesome job, you guys are great! You earned my business! If you treat everyone the way that I was treated, your business will flourish. I have to admit that I knew nothing about bikes except that I had a Huffy as a kid. I just moved to Chicago and was looking to get into biking. I walked into this shop and they educated me on everything I need to know about bikes and how to select one. The customer service was great and the selection was even better. This was one of the best shopping experiences I've ever had and will definaly go back and refer business their way. The think that sold me was that I knew I was going to get outstanding service going forward.

I spent $1,000.00 at this store and was told I would get 10% off the purchase of a brand new bike. This company has a web site and an on-line coupon for a $77.00 accessory bundle for free. I told my buddy about it and he decided to get the same bike I did. They charged my buddy full price which he caught after he paid for it. The owner told my buddy he couldn't have 10% off and the accessory bundle. I was very embarrassed and sorry I recommended my friend there. In the end, the owner agreed to give him $35.00 back instead of the full $50.00 for the discount. At this time, he told me he never went back to get it he was so upset about it.

When I went to pick up my bike after the rack was installed, the bike wasn't fully put together. It was missing a kick stand. Later, I went to their web site again which indicates a rear light is included in the bundle but it wasn't installed on my bike. I had to leave and come back later to pick it up. Two days later, I went to open the back of my CRV and the rack was in the way. I wasn't given a manual to operate the mechanisms. I had to call the shop to find out how to get the rack in a lower position. A few days later, I noticed they installed the water bottle cage but neglected to give me the water bottle I purchased at the time of sale. After my friend told me he didn't get the discount they were talking about I decided to take a look at my receipt. Sure enough, I too didn't get the 10% discount on what was promised. A very frustrating experience indeed....

I just picked up a Specialized road bike from here about 2 weeks ago. I shopped around for a few weeks looking for a great deal, after coming back to this shop 3 times I definitly knew that it would be worth it to purchase my bike from here. It is obvious that employees here have a genuine enthusiasm for their work, and this equates into excellent customer service. The individual helping me, Nick, went above and beyond in explaining basic bicycle concepts. This may be why I bought here instead of one of the several bike shops in the city. After I made a purchase, which was for a gift, he took care to offer a reasonable return and exchange policy, and ensure the bicyle was serviced and securely placed in my vehicle, which is not equipped for such transportation. I highly recommend this shop to any novice or athlete looking for exceptional customer service.

I must correct my earlier comment about the shop not offering train tables. Apparently I spoke to a new, part-time employee who wasn't yet familiar with all the services offered. I went back, spoke to Nick, and we've now made arrangements to have a table made, installed, and all my 9-year old nephew's questions answered. Highest compliments to a superior, service-oriented shop!!!

The boyz at the connection hooked me up with a downhill race bike for the 06' season and I rocked it all summer long!!!

Not to mention the guys directed me to a tough set of wheels that withstood the rock gardens of the East coast.

If you're looking for a big hit rig this staff will point you in the right direction and insure you're not buying too much or too little.

Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Everytime I shop here, I remember why I don't like to buy parts from on line retailers.

Competitive prices, friendly service, what more could you want. I take all my bikes here for service, regardless of where I bought the bike.

Stop by and talk with Mike and Chris, they are great guys, and fellow riders also.
