I'd never heard of this place until today. I recently bought a bike and wanted a tune up. I looked at a few options, but the shops were either too expensive or it would take too long to get the bike back. I went to see these guys, and my bike was done in less than an hour. I paid what would other shops would charge for a tune up, and I got the tuneup plus new pedals and brake pads. My bike is now in tip top shape.
It's also a great location. You get the bike fixed up, then head out on the trail along the lake. This shop is right on the trail!

I used this site and actually tried calling another bike shop (Uptown) first but they said this is their busy time and they estimated it would take them a week and a half to my bike back to me. I called these guys and they said to come down and they'd finish the tune up in 30 minutes! Totally great service and they let me be annoying and watch everything they were doing. Answered all of my questions. Highly recommended, even for hippies!

I have an old peugeot road bike from the 70's and this shop is the only one in Chicago that will even look at it in regard to repairs etc. They give it a great (and cheap) tune up every spring and it rides smooth during the summer. If something doesn't seem to function properly, Marc, Demian and their crew are there to assist on short notice and always with a smile. They take the time to help in any way possible and will not stop until the problem is solved!!!

I have used Lakeshore Bike N Tune a couple of times. When I first got my bike, I tried to get it into other places to get things tuned up and shifting properly. The other shops told me it was about a 3 week lead time and would be 80 clams or so. These guys not only got my bike in when I stopped by, but they did a heck of a job and cost half of what others charge.
They are very knowledgable about bikes and don't try to sell you on anything. They take YOUR situation and offer their advice. Other places just want to tell you how smart they are and how little you know. I get it, you work at a bike shop, you should have some knowledge.
I always have a great experience with Lakeshore and will continue to visit them when I can.

These guys are really great. They helped me every time my tires blew out (which was often, on my 1974 beater) and patiently answered my questions. They later sold me a bike at a remarkably low price. The only drawback is that they're not open all year, because they do great service with a friendly attitude.

The only draw back here is that they're not open year-round. These guys will bend over backwards to keep the customer happy. I was here with my girlfriend and had both bikes tuned up in about two hours. Our five-year-old bikes never even rode this well out of the bike shop. Moreover, Demian, one of the owners, patiently answered all my questions even while four more customers were waiting to recieve service. Once you go here, you'll be a customer for life!

These guys are pretty good. I had no trouble getting a hold of them during the winter, and Marc was a real pleasure. He came over to my house, was very flexable with scheduling, and my bike is riding very well now. Good stuff.

I have to say, this shop is great. Its a good place for a quality tune up at a good sound price. I've gotten 3 tune ups from them now, (I get two a season) and this last one about a week ago kept my bike going like new. Marc is a great guy too, real friendly and ready to answer any question you might have. GO HERE! Dont pay kozy's or village too much to do a quick inspection and blow off your work when lakeshore will do it infront of you while you wait! Plus the location is great, right in the waveland park ON THE PATH, flat tires are a pain no more!
