Highly Reliable - from: '' - Rating: 5/5 - 13-Jul-10
Very knowledgeable staff. Owner works hard to have customer make an informed decision so proper bike is selected. They deliver on timeframe promises and have outstanding integrity. Trustworthy and reliable, with personable service.

So Far, Not so Good - from: '' - Rating: 2/5 - 09-Jul-10
Took my bike in a week ago on a Tues for a new seat post and was informed they needed to order it and it would be in by Thursday. They called me Thursday night to tell me it wouldn't be in until this following week. Haven't heard from them at all this week and called on Thursday to get status. They couldn't find my paperwork and told me they'd call me back. Didn't recieve a call back yet, a day later. We'll see how it goes from here....

Disappointing - from: '' - Rating: 1/5 - 14-Apr-10
Poor, rather unprofessional service. Overpriced. Brought an older - but quite functional - bicycle in for $60 yearly tune up. Added change of tires and inner tubes, and three spokes (not installed) and the total was around $135. The tune up resulted in no noticable improvement, and, in fact, within two weeks the chain came off, having been too loosely fitted, and the handle bars began to stick so that the bike would not turn - problems that had not existed before.

There was not even any external cleaning of the body, wheels, spokes or gears. Bike was just as dirty and dusty as when brought in. Dealt alternately with two young adults, one who seemed rather uninformed and the other disinterested. Observed management in the shop but was not greeted or acknowledged by them. Have since taken the bike for 'another' tune up to another shop. Seems better so far, at least in terms of knowledge and interest. I pick the bike up again this week.

Best shop around! - from: '' - Rating: 5/5 - 20-Jul-09
If you live in the city this shop is way worth the trip. They are on top of everything and are very very willing to solve your problem. They will even stay for you to get there if you are fighting traffic out of the city. They got a part from Specialized that basically supports my whole bike in no time at all. I called around to all the dealers in the city and they arrogance is ridiculous. They never want to help you with anything. The Wheel Thing said bring it in and had the part in less than a week. I suggest dropping all the shops in the city for these guys. True riders also, they know the lingo and the terrain.

Low pressure - from: '' - Rating: 5/5 - 30-Jun-09
They sell used childrens bikes with low pressure. I told them what I wanted and they never tried to oversell me in fact they talked me out of a new fancy bike after hearing what it would be used for.

Wheel thing. - from: '' - Rating: 5/5 - 05-Jan-09
Overall this shop was great. I recently purchased a specialized bike from there and the service was amazing! they fitted me no problem and even took the front wheel off for free and offered to help carry it to my car. Also, the owner sold me the bike at the '08 price, so I saved $120! And he gave me a lock 1/2 off too. Excellent customer service. I'm definitly a customer for life.

Wheel Thing: The Wheel Deal! - from: '' - Rating: 5/5 - 08-Jun-08
Great shop with helpful staff in a convenient location right off the LaGrange Road Metra. Went in there just knowing I wanted something other than my 8 yr old low end MTB but was torn between a roadie or a hybrid.

Staff took the time to explain the pros and cons of each and then had me try 4 different models/sizes before I found one that was a good fit. Also helped me out with shoe selection (I've never had clip-ins before).

best part? Bought the bike on a Friday night and it was built on Saturday afternoon. Aside from the fact they don't take Amex, a top notch operation!

Great Store - from: 'Aaron Rycroft' - Rating: 5/5 - 09-Apr-08
Excellent customer service, very knowledgeable staff. For those serious about biking, this is a great place to buy your gear without worry about being pressured into buying things you don't need.

Service - from: '' - Rating: 5/5 - 19-Sep-07
These guys are great! Called them at 5:00 pm Monday looking for a particular bike. They had it but it wasn't built. Told me if I came in to be fitted for it they could have it the next afternoon. I went there that evening & they had already started on it. Even though I had them add several things to the bike (one item had to be modified to fit), they worked hard & I actually received it that night instead of the next day. Fast, efficient, & pleasant service.

Re: service - from: '' - Rating: 2/5 - 28-Jul-07
I bought a Gary Fisher Nirvana last year and had problems from the get-go. Fed up, I wanted my money back. I was told that I had to speak to Bruce and he was only there on Sundays. I left messages without a call back and am now stuck with a bike I hope to sell. Don't buy from these guys. The employees arn't empowered to park their cars let alone handle quality problems.

Have only used them once to have my wife's bike tuned up w/ some minor repairs. they did a good job, called us when it was ready, 2 days earlier than they promised. Close to the Metra stop. Parking on La Grange Rd infront of the store is dicey but they have an alley entrance. I would give them a 5 but haven't had enough experience with them and don't want to mislead anyone but i recommend them for fast competent service/
